It’s been a really long time since I had a proper wide angle lens and two strobes, and since the guys at Sea Rovers had a spot on their Menjangan boat, I thought this would be good baptism for my new system. The lovely walls of Dreamland and Pos II Belok Kiri provided many photogenic subjects, which is a good and a bad thing. It’s really challenging to isolate a main subject when there is lush reef everywhere, then balancing the strobe light with the natural light adds another level of complexity to the mix. It will definitely take a lot more practice to produce stunning images, but I’m not too disappointed with my first attempts.
